    If it happens when a faction dies... it sounds like its most likely related to the movie files then...

    Archaon - check the 3.75 config.. it does have all the movie cutscenes off, right? (other then the event ones)

    When playing the Dwarves of Khazad-dum, I always have a CTD after turn 16, when the Kingdom of Gondor is to make their move (I used toggle_fow, and Gondor finished their turn. It seems like the problem is when the following faction should start their turn and the system just can't move to make their turn).
    Strange, but my system log shows only references to the americas folder which I didn't play for some weeks (and the modification date is the first of October).
    Does anyone has any ideas what is causing the crash?

    Funny, but I had to reinstall DAC due to my comp crash, and since that there are no more CTD-s. So, if any more are occured, I will send it, but I hope I will not send any in a while cheers

    It was too early to be happy. After turn 47 with my new campaign, an another CTD occured.
    As I haven't had a logs folder (how is it possible?) I made one and started again. CTD again.
    There were three files inside, I think the DAC.system.log is necessary here. Here are the 10 last lines:

    People are getting CTD on movies again..
    This I am afraid is due to your video settings, or software/hardware..
    Not everyone get this error, and it is core TATW and not changed by DaC..

    To fix it go into the .cfg and disable movies.

    Thank you for your help, as soon as I get home from work, I will change it, hope I won't get more CTDs. Very Happy

    Unfortunately I have the same again (checked the log, again the win_dwarves.bik is the last monitored (bink) (debug) etc.
    Movies = false in the cfg. I changed to true and back but CTD is still there (tried both true and false, CTD all the time). Shall I try a new driver to my video card, or what can I do? Can you help me with this please? (any suggestions would be great as I really would like to play further)

    Hi again,

    I've tried all you have told me, looked after it onthe forums, it seems like noone knows the solution.
    Do you have any idea what can I do to it? I have never had problems like this before neither in M2:TW, in kingdoms or in TA:TW, only now. What is wrong? What can I do? Canyou help me with it? Please?!

    Well i played Gondor for awhile and wanted to try The High Elves.After about 12 turns i got a Medieval II error and kick to desk top.I restarted the game and played a few more turns and another error kicked to desk top.It's now turn 47 and every other end of turn ends up a kicked to desk top.I restart and i get through that TURN but on the next one it will kick at the very end of turn when it lands on the rebel icon.I started a new game 3 times and still end up with the crash sooner or later or both.
    Tried another campaign with failure.Started crashing about mid 20's turns.I even Deleted the whole game and reloaded it fresh.Still crashes.

    Well i had to quit the High Elf Campaign.Crash to desk top got worse.Wish i could tell what may have caused the problems but all i got was Medieval II had an error and will close now.

    I will try Silvans faction now.
    Well it took awhile.I managed to play 258 turns before i started getting CTD's.It does not happen after every turn but it is happening.I have had 2 CTD's from turn 258 to 261 so far.I hope it does not get worse to the point i have to quit this campaign to.

    I believe (not sure) that this has to do with Gondor. Whne you got a CTD was it while AI was playing right when it loaded Gondor's turn? If it does than its a known bug posted by me and a few others here before but as far as I know it wasnt fixed yet.

    It may have something to do with Gondor's AI turn.It is hard to tell but most crashes happen right as the turn scrolls to the end at Gondor or rebels.

    There are several players (including me) having the same CTD on Gondor's turn. What I found out is that sometimes Gondor tries to capture its own settlement (usually the one next to Dol Amroth) and that causes the crash (and the biggest problem is that you can't kill the invading army as they form that during their turn!!). There are several scripts for Gondor included and it makes tracking much harder.

    I was thinking about why are there players receiving this CTD and others not. Basicly, I ask you to list the M2:TW Kingdoms version you play with and DAC version also (list if it's the 7-zip or from other downloads). I ask you to do this, even if you've never before received CTD while playing DAC!

    Somewhere I read in TWC that even the Kingdoms version can cause some problems, but I haven't tried it yet (usually I'm playing TA:TW and DAC with only 1.3 Kingdoms (automatic upgrade during installing).
    Isn't it possible that CTD-s are happening because of low Kingdoms version??

    Well, I know I'm on Kingdoms 1.3, and suffered several in the past. I used the 7zip.

    However, I will be updating to 1.5 when I've finished the restructure, so I recommend the rest of the team to do so.

    However, I've been using Custom Battle So Much now, that I never go into the Campaign except for minor things.

    Well, it seems like there are some mess around with and army trying to invade Edhellon (it's a town next to Dol Amroth in Gondor, check it with toggle_fow console command).

    Try this (hope it will work):

    open console:
    type: show_cursorstat (before point the cursor somewhere near your biggest army)
    move_character Invade_Edhellon x, y (x and y from cursorstat)

    and kill him with your own army (I received this hint in TWC for similar problem, although it didn't work for me as the AI just formed the invading army during its turn).

    thx, seems to be the corsair invasions which indeed spawn their armies ad hoc, is it possible to deactivate the script without neeeding to start a new campaign?
