After Taking Barad-dur from Sauron the game crashes on the Mordor Faction the turn after.

Im going to test that barad dur script further. I shamefully admit to only playing it until the faction dismantled and no further.

I removed the script. Received crash.

I edited scripts relating to Sauron spawning before Papal_states turn - so as theres always someone alive.

Received crash.

Now... we can try a horde, and include a character up in the corner of the map but that would mean it can never be attacked.

It also feels like a stop gap measure to me.

I feel that we'd be best off making the entire set of factions islamic.

But thats only if the issue relates to the faction being the papal_states (or really papal faction)

mmm now i remember why I left M2TW editing in the first place.

It sucks.

i say you're far better of making them islamic.
the pope won't die, no matter what you do ( he didn't die in vannila m2tw!), and as i already told you, taking sauron's settlement caused a crash in vannilla tatw.
the sauron-favor are a bitch to maintain anyway Razz

K i changed all appropriate references (with some minor issues in the VnVs)

Start up game, launch game... runs fine. Click on Minas Morgul and boom.. crash! Trying to figure out what caused it now.. no error log.

alright found the issue, it wa something stupid. Now i'm getting a retarded -wont go past "Start" on the campaign screen
might want some help looking at files here.

usually your log tells you the problem when it's "won't go past start"

im also wondering if the issue is that the game doesn't even have a 'catholic' religion in. I wonder if there always has to be a catholic faction.

okay I've got it working.

Couldn't remove the catholic religion, it caused a crash, so I just added a new dwarf religion and renamed some things. It works

Last night my girlfriend hated me (I lied) I told her I fell asleep on the couch but in fact I was up all night modding faction standings and playing a Gondor campaign simultaneously.

No CTDs when Destroying Barad-Dur! Well done renown! After 84 turns I finally took the tower, Mordor came tumbling down and the region went all dark..
Not a CTD to be found!
~Just needed express how much I am loving Jihad invasions!

I still recieves CTD after taking Barad Dûr. Played as Rivendell, game crashes when ending the turn after taking Barad Dûr. This is with the 3.75.

Yes. Made a new one just to be sure. Its the same with gondor so I suppose its for all the factions. The religious system appears to be correct, with morgoth added as their culture.

There is no log. It doesnt make one after this crash, and I have no old one lying around as I tried reinstalling everything. just to make shure it was correct.

DaC always has a log.. it is called "DAC.system.log.txt" and is found in "Medieval II Total War\logs"

we have BETA errors that are not resolved, so if you are running 3.75 you def have a log

ok, i see your system doesn't get to the part in "world" folder where you get the errors in the descr_strat. so i think there is an issue that causes a CTD when your world folder is being mounted.

It is unusual that you are being crashed without an error and noone else has seen any issues.
Can you explain to us your hardware and os? maybe there is a common issue know to the community that is causing this..

If we cant think of anything to help you - i will send you my entire "world" folder by email and hope that over-writes your issue and starts working.
